JetBlue is staging a flyover of three passenger planes over New York City on the evening of May 7 to honor essential workers. New Yorkers took to social media to condemn this decision, saying it could spark remembrances of the September 11 attempts for occupants. Others said the flyover will not benefit firstly responders and healthcare workers. The flyover will burn millions of pounds of gasoline at no cost to the airline, and JetBlue said it “thanks its partners at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, JetBlue Air Line Pilots Association, CarbonFund.org and a fuel provider.” Visit Business Insider’s homepage for more tales.
